Angolan Vice President, Bornito de Sousa Returns Home

The Angolan Vice President, Bornito de Sousa, returned to the country last Thursday after representing the Head of State in the funeral ceremony of the former secretary-general of the United Nations (UN), Kofi Annan.

At the airport, the Vice President was welcomed back home by Frederico Cardoso, State minister and head of the civil Office of the Head State, by the State minister and head of the Head of State’s Security Office, Pedro SebastiĆ£o, government officials, the Luanda governor, Adriano Mendes de Carvalho, among other officials.

Bornito de Sousa, who stayed two days in the Ghanaian capital, participated in Kofi Annan’s funeral ceremony.

Kofi Annan passed away last August 18, in Switzerland, at the age of 80.

In 2001, Kofi Annan was distinguished with the Peace Nobel Prize.
