Zimbabwe: AMA Issues $80 million for Purchase of Maize

Zimbabwe’s Agricultural Marketing Authority (AMA) has disclosed that it will issue $80 million in grain bills to buy maize from farmers. This purchase will commence next week, the authority’s financial advisor CBZ Bank said on Monday.

Grain bills are capitals basically meant for the purchase of maize and are granted by the Zimbabwean government.

According to the Grain Marketing Board, a government agency responsible for marketing agricultural produce, it has been given the responsibility to raise the money for the purchase of the grains through another state entity.
